Resisting what is already fact changes nothing; it only spends your strength twice.
The Stoics saw the world as a rational fabric, and each person's fate as a thread in it, cut by a larger mind. To love here does not mean enjoying misfortune, but receiving it without inner war, because resisting what is already fact drains your strength and changes nothing. A man who loses his job and spends a year raging against the fact loses twice. Acceptance frees the energy for what comes next.
Why it matters It helps in moments when reality can no longer be changed — a diagnosis, a loss, a failure — as a fast shift from "why me?" to "what do I do from here?".
