You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.Antoine de Saint-Exupéry · Micul Prinț · 1943 · Micul Prinț, Cap. XXI

A bond created through taming implies an eternal responsibility.

The Fox teaches the Little Prince that taming means creating a unique bond that transforms both parties. Once you have invested time and affection in a relationship, you cannot abandon that being without consequences. For example, a true friend or a pet becomes part of your life, and neglecting them would be a betrayal of trust.
