Whoever demands an answer dictates its shape; whoever stops hunting can be caught by truth.
The paradox targets the difference between possessive searching and receptive openness. Whoever wants to find has already fixed the shape of the answer and misses the real one; whoever does not search has nothing to defend and can be met by truth. Kafka is thinking here of faith and revelation, which are not obtained through effort but come to a person. Meaning often arrives while you live, not while you interrogate life obsessively.
Why it matters Relevant for anyone obsessively chasing happiness, meaning or success: sometimes giving up the hunt is the condition for being found.
