Man is precious as a crossing, not a destination: being a bridge means accepting your own collapse.
Nietzsche overturns classical humanism, which made man the final purpose of all things. For him, man deserves love precisely because he is incomplete: a passage, an overture, and even a going under — the surrender of one's own form so that another can appear. The mechanism is creative sacrifice: every becoming requires that something die. A student who surpasses her teacher, or a person who abandons an old identity for a larger one, shows what it means to be a bridge and not a goal.
Why it matters It frees you from the pressure of being a finished product and values transformation as an end in itself.
