Those who have enough stop fighting; constant fighting betrays an inner void.

The logic is simple: someone who has enough does not compete; endless competing signals an inner lack. Contention here means any struggle to be above — in debates, at work, in the family. Whoever wins a point by shouting wins the argument but loses people's respect. A colleague who lets ideas speak for themselves, without defending their ego, often persuades more than the one fighting over every sentence.
