Eminescu expresses a philosophical view of the cyclical nature of existence: nothing truly perishes, it merely changes form. The mechanism is perpetual rebirth: the death of one thing gives birth to another. For example, fallen leaves rot and feed the soil from which new trees grow—the same matter, different form. Eternity does not mean immobility, but continuous transformation.
