Wisdom begins with acknowledging one's own limits, not with the pretense of surpassing them.

Socrates distinguishes himself from others by not claiming to know what he does not know. This awareness of ignorance is the first step toward wisdom. For instance, an expert who admits not knowing everything outside their field is more credible than one who pretends to be an authority on all topics.
