Human ingenuity is neither good nor evil: the same power that builds can destroy.
The chorus in the play lists human achievements: navigation, agriculture, language, thought, civic order. The wonder is double, because the same powers can serve evil. The Greek word dein carries both awe and menace: whoever is too clever can become dangerous. The technology that gives us medicine and communication also gives us weapons and surveillance; the same ingenuity, two directions.
