Sun Tzu urges exploiting the opponent's vulnerabilities through unexpected actions. Attacking where unprepared means striking unprotected weak points. Appearing where not expected means being unpredictable in movements. For example, a general might attack at night or use a mountain route deemed impossible. The mechanism is simple: the opponent cannot react effectively to what they don't anticipate.
