“In war, numbers alone confer no advantage.”Sun Tzu · Arta războiului · -500 · capitolul 9
Sun Tzu rejects the idea that brute force, measured in number of soldiers, ensures success. A large army can be slow, hard to coordinate, and vulnerable to supply shortages. In contrast, a smaller but well-led army that attacks at the right moment and on favorable terrain can win. For example, an agile startup can outperform a giant corporation if it innovates quickly, while the giant moves slowly due to bureaucracy.
Why it matters In business or personal life, relying only on resources (money, time, people) without an intelligent strategy leads to failure; the quality of the plan matters more than the quantity of resources.
