Love gives life its shape and fulfillment; without it, life remains something begun but never finished.

If I did not love you, my life would be an unfinished song.Rabindranath Tagore · Păsări răzlețe · 1916 · Fragmentul 4

Love is not life's ornament but the resolving note that turns material into song.

The metaphor of the unfinished song says that life has a structure demanding completion, just as a melody demands the resolution of its ending. Love is the force that carries it to the end, not an ornament added on. Without it there is material but no form: days, deeds, plans, without resonance. A successful career can still sound like a suspended phrase if it is not tied to someone or something loved.

Why it mattersA reminder that fulfillment is not measured in achievements alone: the absence of emotional bonds leaves life suspended, however many chapters you add.
