“Life is long if you know how to use it.”Seneca · Despre scurtimea vieții · 49 · capitolul 2
Years don't enrich you; only the days you showed up for your own life do.
Seneca separates chronological duration from lived duration. The mechanism is attention: time spent deliberately — chosen work, reflection, learning, friendship — accumulates as experience and leaves marks, while time passed in haste and noise vanishes without trace. One purposeful year can hold more than a wasted decade. A concrete example: someone learning a craft at forty lives 'longer' than someone repeating the same inert routine for twenty years.
Why it matters It helps anyone who feels time has run out: the real resource is how you use the day, not the number of years left.
