“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”Sun Tzu · Arta războiului · -500 · capitolul 3
The supreme victory is the one achieved without expending the resources of a conflict.
Sun Tzu teaches that true mastery in war is not to win in battle, but to make battle unnecessary. Through diplomacy, deterrence, alliances, or strategic manipulation, you can get what you want without losing people or resources. A manager who negotiates a partnership instead of entering a price war applies the same principle. Brute force is the last resort, not the first.
Why it matters In business and in life, avoiding open conflict saves precious energy and resources.
