God is not a place you reach, but a way of seeing what is already before you.
Blake does not look for God in a separate realm but in a way of seeing. The same object can be merely a thing or a window onto the boundless, depending on the attention brought to it. A paving stone can stay a stone or can speak of the order and vastness of the world. Vision changes nothing in things and everything in seeing. The divine becomes a quality of perception, not a theological possession.
