Daoism locates danger not in action but in exceeding measure. Whoever does not know when to stop — in ambition, spending, speech, expansion — burns through resources and invites collapse. The mechanism is growth that destroys itself: anything pushed past its natural point produces the opposite of what was wanted. Classic cases: the entrepreneur who keeps borrowing to grow and loses everything, or the climber who does not turn back in time. Stopping in time is not cowardice but knowledge of one's own measure.
